Main research areas
Understanding the regulation and role of autophagic membrane trafficking in physiology and diseases
In our group we are using state of the art Drosophila genetics in combination with a large variety of cell and molceular biology techniques to understand the role of autophagic membrane trafficking in cancer and other diseases.
Keywords
The role of lipid metabolism in tumor development
This research focuses on understanding how alterations in cellular lipid metabolic pathways influence tumor progression. We are using state-of-the-art genetic, cell biologic, and lipidomic approaches on Drosophila carcinoma model and human cancer cell lines to find sensitive points of tumor development.
